VIOLATION LETTERS
A recent inspection of the community was completed and letters were sent to all residents who were out of compliance at the time of the inspection. (Please note that if you got a letter and you had already taken care of the item(s) that were addressed, disregard the letter) Some of the items noticed in the inspection are as follows:
*Foundations not being painted a similar color to the siding of the home (basement homes)
*Trash cans being left at the curb past the allowable time frame.
*Mailboxes needing to be painted and numbers put on both sides.
*Yards overgrown and needing to be cut and edged.
*Grass clipping left in the streets, sidewalks and driveways.
*Moldy siding in need of pressure washing.
*Flower beds needing to be weeded and refreshed with pine straw, mulch or other landscape material.
*Yards with bare spots that need to be sodded or covered with appropriate ground cover.
*Trailers being parked in yards and in plain view of the street.
*Accumulation of items around the house that need to be moved out of view of the road.
These items are all addressed in our Standard and Guidelines. All residents have received copies of these guidelines and they are posted to the website. When in doubt, please look them over.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
It is apparent that some residents oppose to the letters they have received and feel they are being singled out or picked on. Let us assure you that this is NOT the case. If you drive around the community and see a home out of compliance, rest assured, they did get a letter. Whether or not that homeowner decides to comply with the letter is another situation. We are finding that some homeowners instead of complying and addressing the issues, they would prefer to ignore the letters and not comply. You can pick out who these homeowners are; they are always the same ones you see on a daily basis. These homeowners have been fined for these violations. If you get a letter, please comply with what it says. The purpose of creating the Standards and Guidelines is to preserve the appearance and architectural harmony of the community and to protect the value of your property. It will only work if we all follow them.
REQUIRED YARD MANTENANCE
These are the items that minimally need to be done on a regular basis during the growing months.
1) Cut your grass on a regular basis - once a week during the growing season
2) Edge your walkways, driveways and flower/tree beds - This prevents the grass and weeds from creeping into these locations
3) Weed Control - Chemical applications will take care of the weeds in your lawn. Hand pull or spray the weeds in the flower and tree beds.
4) Weed Eat around the mailbox, sides of the house and any street signs located on your property or right of way.
5) Refresh your pinestraw, mulch or other landscaping material in your tree and flower beds in the spring and fall.
6) DONT LEAVE GRASS CLIPPINGS IN THE STREET, DRIVEWAYS OR SIDEWALKS.
VACANT LOTS
It is not the responsibility of the HOA to maintain the vacant lots. Each vacant lot has a 10 foot right of way that should be maintained by the county. Unfortunatley, due to budget cuts, they have not come to cut these right of ways.
We would like all residents to know that a homeowner in our community has taken it upon himself to cut these right of ways. He uses his own equipment and gas because he cares about Golden Meadows.
If you live next door to a vacant lot and it bothers you that its overgrown, cut it. There is nothing we can do about it.
